Is sedation safe for young children?

Yes, when administered by trained specialists with continuous monitoring. Our team follows strict AAPD and AAP safety protocols for every sedation procedure, regardless of age.

Will my child remember the appointment?

It depends on the sedation level. With nitrous oxide, children usually remember most of the visit. With oral sedation, memories are often hazy. With IV sedation and general anesthesia, children typically have little to no memory of the procedure.

Can I be in the room?

For lighter sedation (nitrous, most oral sedation), yes. For IV sedation and general anesthesia, parents typically wait in a separate area while the anesthesia team works — we’ll reunite you the moment your child wakes.

How much does sedation cost?

Costs vary by type and treatment scope. Nitrous is the most affordable and often partially covered by insurance. IV sedation and general anesthesia are more significant investments but may be partially covered for medically necessary cases. Financing through CareCredit and Cherry is available.

Will insurance cover sedation?

Sometimes — it depends on your plan and the medical necessity. We’ll verify benefits before treatment and provide a detailed cost estimate.
